Conveying dementia through type
It's nice to see agencies and font foundries working together for good causes. Brand Union and Colophon have, together, created a bespoke typeface for an identity for Race Against Dementia. "The typeface has letters split halfway down and jolted to the side, a distortion that conveys the unsettling and disconnected nature of the disease." It's a simple idea, very well executed, and just shows how a great concept can be represented by some clever typography alone.
