ZocDoc's facelift

ZocDoc is an online tool that allows the people of the USA to search for doctors and book an appointment. Their previous brand was dull, prescriptive and uninspiring and one you'd forget in an instant.

Along comes Wolff Olins, who have injected a whole heap of personality into the brand. The new face 'Z' icon plays up to our love of emoji and plays up to a trusted diagnosis tool in medical history: the smiley face pain chart. 

The whole brand feels bright, friendly and helpful – although I do wish the advertising used a bit more colour. Design for healthcare can feel quite dry and feel the need to be safe and clear. This just proves that adding a bit of humanity can really inject some life and create a real stand out identity.
